Social, Economic & Community Participation

Created with Fabric.js 5.3.0

These supports enable the participant to engage in community, social and recreational activities. The Happy Human Hub staff will find you innovative, stimulating and fun activities to make your day a highlight. Whether it’s a beautiful day to spend at the beach, swimming at the baths or pool, or picnicking by the lake and enjoying a swim, we’ll make a day of it. Or what about a day on the water on the Lake Macquarie Ferry, getting off for a look around, or lunch at Booragul, Toronto, Speers Point, Belmont or Wangi.

Feeling adventurous? You might want to try indoor rock climbing or drive to Salamander Bay to hit the slopes of Toboggan Hill Park or Tree Tops Adventure Park. If you feel like getting back into nature, we can take a leisurely drive to Hunter Valley Gardens and stroll through the greenery, or go bushwalking through Glenrock, or head down the highway to Somersby Falls for a picnic and beautiful scenery. You can count on us to find something fun and exciting to do.

Feeling like a lovely drive and lunch? We might take a day trip to The Entrance or Nelsons Bay, walk around the marina, find a beautiful lunch café, or get fish and chips and chill on the sand. If it’s animals you love, it may be a trip to Blackbutt Reserve, Oakvale Farm, The Australian Reptile Park, Shark & Ray Park, Hunter Valley Zoo or a Dolphin Cruise; it’s your choice to decide your favourite place to visit.

If the weather is rainy, you might like to go bowling, catch a movie, do some shopping, or hit the games at Time Zone or DullBoys Social Co. We’ll be having so much fun together you would have forgotten it’s raining outside.

Love your morning walk and breakfast or lunch out? We’ve got fantastic cafés right around the corner at Warners Bay. We can start our walk in beautiful Speers Point Park and then head to Warners Bay or find somewhere new to check out; it’s your choice to pick somewhere great to go.

There are too many choices, people to meet and places to go to list them all down. But rest assured, we’ll have fun spending our day together getting out and about; the choice is all yours!

Support Coordination

Created with Fabric.js 5.3.0

Support coordination helps you to make the best use of your support in the plan. Support coordination is a capacity-building support that helps you to:

  • Understand & use your NDIS plan to pursue your goals
  • Connect you with NDIS providers, community, mainstream & other government services
  • Build confidence & skills to use and coordinate your support.

A support coordinator or specialist support coordinator delivers support coordination services.

Three levels of support coordination can be included in your plan:

SUPPORT CONNECTION

This support builds your ability to connect with informal, community and funded supports, enabling you to get the most out of your plan and pursue your goals.

SUPPORT COORDINATION – COORDINATION OF SUPPORTS

This support will assist you in building the skills you need to understand and use your plan. A support coordinator will work with you to ensure a mix of supports is used to increase your capacity to maintain relationships, manage service delivery tasks, live more independently and be included in your community.

SPECIALIST SUPPORT COORDINATION

This is a higher level of support coordination. It is for people with complex situations and who need specialist support. A specialist support coordinator will assist you in managing challenges in your support environment and ensure consistent service delivery.
